Surco Products Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Kia Soul- Video

Today on this 2016 Kia Soul, we're going to be test fitting the 20 x 48 Surco Cargo Carrier, part number 52017. This has a carrying capacity of 300 pounds and has a nice mesh floor, which makes it easy to clean. It also has this rail all the way around the cargo carrier, and you can use that as a tie-down point for either your ratchet straps or your bungee cords. I'm going to go ahead and give you some measurements now. Staring from the edge of the bumper to our outer edge here, we've added about 23-1/2 inches to the rear of the vehicle. The ground clearance to this edge here is going to be about 9-1/2 inches, and our closest point to this edge here is going to be about 2 inches. Then, from the center of the hitch pinhole to our edge here is going to be about 6 inches, so if you have different hitches for this vehicle, from the center of the hitch pinhole out, that's how far it's going to stick out. Also, the exhaust on this vehicle is going to be on the passenger side, but it does face down and is about 11-1/2 inches to our cargo carrier itself, so just keep it in mind maybe put some more of your heat-sensitive materials over to the driver side. Now, with it in this position, we do have full access to our rear hatch to get whatever we need. However, I'm going to go ahead and give you a break-over point measurement, and that's going to be the point where whatever it is you're hauling will come into contact with your rear hatch. more

We've also got 4 pre-drilled connection points over at each corner for stretch, so we can get everything nice and secure. Now overall our carrier is going to take up about 5 1/2 inches. more

Today on our 2016 Kia Sorento, we're doing a test fit on the Curt 20 by 60 cargo carrier. This is designed for use on two inch hitches, has a weight capacity of 500 pounds. Part number on it is CI8150. As you can see, we've got what I call a medium size expanded steel floor there, plenty of room for dirt and debris to fall down and through while also giving us a lot of support to keep all of our items secure while we're heading down the road. Also helping in that is going to be the raised rail, that goes all the way round the outside here. This is going to be about five and a half inches off of our platform, good front to back and side to side stability. Also, it's going to give us a lot of good connection points around here, so once our gear is on the carrier we'll be able to get it strapped down. On the back side of the carrier we've got about 13 and three quarters of an inch worth of ground clearance. more

With this specific vehicle, we do a single passenger side exhaust, it comes straight down at the ground, so you shouldn't have any problems with any heat sensitive material, since it does head straight down there. more

Now with our Sedona, we do have a single passenger side exhaust. It's right here on the side and it comes straight down towards the ground, so you really shouldn't worry about carrying any heat sensitive materials on our carrier, since it does come directly to the ground. Next, we will check our break over point for our hatch. more

Carpod Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2016 Kia Sedona- Video

Today, on our 2016 Kia Sedona, we're doing a test fit of the Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier. That part number is M2205. It is 23 by 47 inches, and it has a weight capacity to hold up to 450 pounds. So the first thing we're going to do with this on our vehicle is take a few measurements. Our ground clearance is going to be first, back here. We've got about 15 and a half inches. That's because near the vehicle we do have that nice raise shank that's gonna lift the carrier up higher than your hitch would. more

Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Kia Sedona- Video

Today on our 2012 Kia Sedona, we're testing the Curt 20x60 folding cargo carrier, part number C18151, with a 500 pound weight capacity. The first thing we're going to do with this is take a few measurements. You have about 11 inches of ground clearance back here. Overall, we're adding about 32 1/2 inches to the back of the vehicle. Curt Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Kia Sedona c18150- Video

Today on our 2012 Kia Sedona we are test fitting the CURT 20x60 Cargo Carrier. It has a five hundred pound weight capacity, and is designed to work with two-inch hitches. The part number for that is C18150. The first thing we're going to do is take a few measurements here. Ground clearance first is going to be about thirteen inches off the ground there. That's because we do have this nice raised shank in the back, which is going to lift that carrier up even higher than the ground. Overall to the vehicle you're adding about twenty seven and a half inches there. more

Today on our 2012 Kia Sedona, we are test fitting the Curt Folding 24x60 Cargo Carrier, part number C18153. It has a capacity to hold up to 500 pounds, and is designed to work with 2 inch hitches. First thing we'll do is take a few measurements here. We're going to have about 13 1/2 inches of ground clearance back here. Overall to the vehicle we're adding about 40 inches. SportRack Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2012 Kia Sedona- Video

Today on our 2012 Kia Sedona, we're going to be doing a test fit of the SportRack Vista Cargo Carrier. Now the SportRack Vista Cargo Carrier is going to have a 20-inch wide by 60-inch long base with that nice expanded metal for easy cleanability and a sturdy steel construction for a 500-pound weight capacity. It's also going to have that nice folding shank for stowing it up against the back of the vehicle when you don't have it in use. It's also going to have that 2-inch shank to attach to our 2-inch receiver using a 3/4-inch anti-rattle bolt. We'll go ahead and start off by getting a few measurements. Our closest measurement will be our first one here from the back side of the bumper to the front side of the bracket at about 9-1/2 inches. Overall distance from the rear of the bumper to the back side of the rack is going to be about 38-1/4 inches with a rear ground clearance being about 16-1/2 inches. more
